I decided to purchase my first DSLR and had made my mind up on a D40. I ordered one via Call&Collect from my local PC World, and intended on making them price match Amazon's price of £272.

I waited in the queue for ages to be served, and once I got home I realised that he hadn't given me a D40 but a D40X instead! 🙂 So I've paid £272, Nikon's £30 cashback off bring the price down to £242, and the £6 from quidco brings it down even further to £236. Not bad eh?

PC World don't even have the D40X listed on their website, so I don't think that it was the sales assistant who messed up.

Sounds like you lucked out. Congrats on the deal! I wish our retailers would pricematch Amazon, let alone make nice mistakes like this 🙁

That is awesome!
I'm sure you will love the camera, looking forward to seeing your pics.
Which PC World was it?!

I am somewhat ambivalent on this one.

The sales clerk messed-up??

So, what of the repercussions for that faux-pax??
