I'm with Bob and eye.
Not only are PDA's "kinda lame" like Bob says, but you have to think of this another way. What point would there be for Apple to release a PDA? Honestly now. I'm not trying to start a flame war here, but just think about it from a purely business perspective.
Palm, Handspring, and even the (gasp!) PocketPC units really aren't all that great. What could Apple do differently? The Palm OS units are fine for your address book, appointments, etc. and all the other doohickeys that come with it.
People often cite the iPod when explaining why there will definately be another Apple PDA. Remember though that the iPod is "best of breed." Easy synching, only works with Mac, long battery life, large storage, etc. The PDA market is already oversaturated, Palm has lost tons of money, and I can't see what Apple would do to a PDA to make it appealing enough for the current crop of PDA users to dump their Palms.
Of the people I know who have PDAs, most freely admit that it's just a "toy." The others are "power PDA users" who are quite content to use a Palm (and not even the latest model) just so they can tote around their addresses and appointments.
Like I said before, I'm not trying to start a flame war and I know I'm new here. I just don't see why Apple would do this. I could be eating crow later, but for now I'll just end my rant.
