I'm looking to buy a PDA, having not bought one before, I'm rather clueless when it comes to them.

Things I definitely want are WiFi, Bluetooth to link with my phone and a decent screen.

The main one I've been looking at is a Palm TX, it looks like it has good phone features (provided you use the right phone). Is this a good choice? I quite like the look of the Dell Axim x51 series, but the v is too expensive, how do the other 2 models compare? What about HP?

I'm open to other suggestions, but I'm don't want to spend too much on it.

i have a tungsten T5 (the version before the TX) and it's great. good screen, great compatibilit with my mac, and i've used it to send sms messages via bluetooth through my phone occasionally.

i read a lot of ebooks and the T5 is great for that. my only complaint is that it doesn't have a jog dial. my last pda was a sony clie nx70v (it was fabulous - wish i'd never sold it!) and it had a jog dial that made turning ebook pages easy ergonomically with one hand.

i encouraged a friend in the pda market to get the TX, and she loves it. she uses it for heavy address book and calendaring function, and occasional wifi web browsing.

all in all, i think the TX is a great choice. i'm a little bummed that a version with wifi wasn't out when i was in the market, but it's not really a big deal since i prefer to web browse on my powerbook. and i now have wifi on my smartphone, so that works in a pinch.

good luck!
