Running ios8.3 JB with the latest PDA net available. I am a full paid user but it seems that after a few minutes PDA net seems to stop working. My computer will remain connected to my hotspot but I will not be able to use the internet after a few minutes. I have tried leaving the app in the foreground, toggling 4g/lte bands, and disabling the iphone screen from turning off.

The only thing that looks off to me is the settings for the hotspot list a "timeout" time which is set to 2 minutes. There's no way to change it as far as I can tell though.

I considered those but it's my understanding that they don't hide tethering from your provider.

None of the tethering hacks do.
Many people got caught with pdanet also so their claim is more than a gimmick/myth than a guarantee. Just so you know.
There is no 100% way to hide that from your provider. All your data goes though them so they can figure it out if they start looking.

Can someone who has the full edition of pdanet show me a screenshot of what it looks like when you set up your wifi hotspot?

The dev told me I should be able to change my timeout time but for me it appears to be unchangeable. The only thing that happens it turns blue when I tap it.

I am also unable to change the 2 min timeout on my Pdanet with iOS 8.4. My settings looks like your screenshot. However, everything is working fine as long as there is internet activity going on. If a laptop is connected to it, I would run something in the background. Examples include pinging a site every minute, have a mail app periodically check for messages before the timeout occurs, or stream music. This would probably be the best solution until the developer updates the app.

Glad to hear I'm not alone with this issue. I tried running a torrent at 1kbps but that didn't seem to keep my connection active.

I have emailed the dev and he has aknowledged the issue and is supposedly working on a fix so keep your eyes peeled for an app update.
