PDF Cover Art in iBooks?

There's a tab in the Get Info box in iTunes for art but when I click OK it disappears.

Is there anyway to select cover art for PDFs.
 
I just tried putting a PDF into iBooks and noticed the same thing about custom artwork. I suspect you can't have custom artwork in a PDF unless you edit the PDF and make the first page your artwork.

I guess I'll be editing some PDFs today...
