A search came up a number of PDF "readers" (I think its funny it is called a reader, since it opens it) with different prices and features.

So why did you chose a particular one, what feature was important?
    (Not too picky about price)

And what is that "+" on the Free/$$$ icon?

    ex: [+Free] or [+ $1.99]

    Thanks :)

Good reader - b/c it can open 200MB+ files without a problem and loads really fast. I have college txt books that I loaded on and it's awesome

    then the great things that came along with it. orientation lock, multiple file support like .doc, .ppt, .jpg;
can download files from internet, and does app sync from itunes, folders and organization is all available.
has a experimentational thing that works well - turns pdf's into a reading format where it puts into column like an e-reader.
recently added: annotations like notes etc within the app.

it just works very well, I got it for .99c although I think it's 1.99 now.

    PDF Reader

I recommend PDF Reader, I use it on both my iPhone and iPad.
It's easy to use and the cloud storage function is handy as well.
I got it just for $0.99 but I think there's a free edition.

    Files

    I use Files.
Files allows me to read pdf files plus excel, word, txt, view jpg, png, video and other files.
It allows wireless transfer or iTunes transfer.
Has browser and download ability built in.
    Very stable.
