I'm not sure what it is about the sound of rain on a window, that's so calming. Maybe the feeling that you're safe inside, not getting wet?

That's exactly what I love about rain and thunderstorms. I was out walking my dog the other day, and it was raining, but I was in my rain jacket and because I wasn't cold I was happy. It really is very calming and cosy, if that makes sense.

I hate the cold.

And that's some good music right there. I can imagine some Over The Rhine would work well too.

Absolutely! One of the greatest feelings is wearing wellies in a deep puddle :p
