Hey all,

New member on the forum here. Just created an account to hopefully get some helpful tips on how to speed up my computer. Here's the dilemma:

I run Peachtree accounting software on Parallels Desktop 4.0 and within minutes Windows XP becomes extremely slow. I'm talking wait 5 minutes just for a window to pop up from the dock slow. I'm thinking I may have too large of a customer base in Peachtree and it bogs down the computer but I'm also thinking that maybe I didn't allot for enough hard drive space on my mac to allow Windows XP to operate sufficiently.

So here are some specs on my system:

Macbook Pro
Mac OS X 10.6.3
2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

Parallels Desktop 4.0
Windows XP
32 GB of alloted HD
1236 MB main memory

Peachtree by Sage Complete Accounting 2010 (SR-1)

Any information or assistance would be extremely helpful!

this is most likely your problem. Consider upgrading to 4GB and allocating a minimum of 2 GB to each OS.

Check OWC/macsales.com for the RAM, it looks like it might run you ~$130.
