Not tried Pear before. New version is Arch-based, previously was Ubuntu. They've gone right out of their way to make it macOS-like, including calling the browser Pafari, the file manager Pinder...you get the drift.
Currently installing it on a 2011 Macbook Pro 13" 2.8GHz i7.
Will see what happens...

Well, IMHO this is not a distro for older Macs. No wifi drivers, or if there are any, no way to get at them. Half the system settings are not yet available. If this is the same on every install, then this is not ready for release. It certainly looks the part, but it's not good on this machine. I currently don't have a more modern device to try it on, so that's the end of this little experiment for now!

I had it installed on a dell 15 inch and yes, half the features are labeled as coming soon. It's only one person doing the dev work, so it's slow going. Do love the visuals of it though.
