I have one and it's amazing on my Jailbroken 4s 6.1.2. I heard it's pretty sweet on iOS 7 now provided you don't have an iPhone 4.

You can find a lot of great information at reddit.com/r/pebble

I'd be interested in getting one, but the iPhone integration relies on an Pebble App being running.

How often will iOS unload that app running in the background?

Never, both iOS 7 on iOS 6. :)

I love this watch and it actually saves my iPhone battery life despite being connected via bluetooth all day.

I've turn off vibration on the phone and I rarely even look at my phone anymore unless I NEED to interact with it. All push notifications are read on the watch (minus MMS/picture messaging).

In the end I don't doubt apple can release something equally compelling or superior (they have the resources!) but this is a fantastic dirt cheap smart watch that's available now.

Ditto...use it every day

For most notifications you do not need to keep the Pebble app running (or even in the background). I very rarely open it.

Oh cool - but - if there's no app running on the iPhone, how does the Pebble receive notifications?

Once you set them up, at least the basic ones are remembered without the Pebble app being open. I don't have every app set to send notifications, but I get Texts, Calendar events, Caller ID, WeatherRadio warnings without the Pebble app open.

Notifications on iOS don't require the Pebble App.

Once you've connected your Pebble with the Pebble App, it uses the Apple Notification Center Service (ANCS), which is always running and sends notifications via Bluetooth LE.

That said, the Pebble App is always running in the background.

Have a Best Buy Red model. Really dig it.

The watch itself gets regular firmware updates about once a month. 1.14 also fixes among other things the delay between the phone getting the notification and it being displayed on the watch.

iOS7 added a 5 or 6 second delay, that wasn't present on iOS6.

The watch is a little finicky sometimes as far getting everything to communicate right, especially if you walk away from the phone. It can take some steps to get everything back in sync.

But the distance is pretty good, about 30 feet if there aren't any thick walls in between.

Battery life is about 10 days for me. I turned off the back light on motion option.

Actually the biggest downside, was the affect on battery life on the phone using Bluetooth. The phone takes a noticeable hit.

I'm also a Kickstarter backer, and received mine back in February. The Pebble has very much improved since, my only pain point still present after this update is its battery indicator, which is hidden in the menu so I never know when it needs to be recharged.

I've noticed in the latest update even there the indicator only shows up when it starts getting low or when it's charging. Or was it always like this?

For all intents and purposes my pebble app is never running and I still get notifications (and I mean completely closed not sleeping.)

It'd be nice for someone to confirm this is the case for them as well so you have no more excuses :D

I've had one a little shy of a month. The recent firmware upgrade resolved the few problems I encountered. Standing alone, Pebble proves quite helpful. Paired with the PushOver app and ifttt.com, it's beyond mind-boggling. With a little imagination and googling, alerts covering dang near anything are possible. Best bang for the bucks I've encountered in quite some time.

Nicest surprises?
1) Watch band is so comfortable I forget I'm wearing a watch. I had selected a replacement while awaiting delivery, then realized it was unnecessary.
2) Thought the iPhone had to be within easy reach at all times. Accidental discovery, when I simply forgot the iPhone and left it in the corner bedroom -- STILL received alerts, despite being out on the enclosed deck, 3 floors away.

I really appreciate the Futura app/watchface, continuously showing the current weather, with related icon.

Genuinely amazing little product! Bought 2 more, for holiday gifting per Amazon's $119 pricing ($150 regular).

This SEEMS to work where the app/watchface does **not** require the httPebble app. That is, no weather-related data on the watchface. I thought it was because 80-90% of my alerts come by way of ifttt.com/ PushOver or BoxCar apps. In any event, yet another unexpected but delightful plus.
