Pedantic rant about Apple name misuse

I'll add a few of my own:
1. People who call Kleenex Kleexnex.
2. People who say "ekscape" instead of "escape", "axterix" instead of "asterisk", "between" where it should be "among" & vise versa, etc. Grammar errors irritate me.
3. People who compare operating systems by saying "Windows and Apple" or "Microsoft and Mac". There's a difference between OS and company name, idiot...
What about hoover, sellotape, coke et al. Do they all bother you or is it just specific cases.
I personally don't care as long as you know what the person is talking about.
It's pronounced "aitch" - to verbalise it as "haitch" is to admit you're a complete moron (or at least Irish, Singaporean or Indian). Likewise the pronunciation of the words nuclear, asterisk and indeed pronunciation as nucular, asterix and pronounciation winds me up no end.
Personally I think the fact that brands like hoover and sellotape have so permeated our language to almost entirely replace the product name they're describing is an incredible marketing achievement.

I forgot all about Nucular! I hate that...
Here's a few more:
1. People who put the 'h' on the beginning of words that begin 'wh' ; hhh-where, hhhh-when, etc.
2. People that phonetically pronounce foreign words or phrases: Tres Chic (tress chick), Faux (fawks), etc. French seems to be the big one they mess up.
I'll admit it: I say "oh-ess-ex." Heck every time I say "linux" I pronounce it both ways....seems like everyone has their own way of pronouncing that one (line-ux vs. lihn-ux usually).....and I'm still confused over how to prounounce the last name of a friend of mine, "say-ta, see-ta or set-ah" ???

Dictionary definition - it's 'atich', not 'haitch'.
Pronouncing H haich is a northern thing. Queens English dictates H is pronounced aich.
I know what you mean, in Michigan there are several towns with names from foreign languages (Spanish and French) but the people there couldn't pronounce the name right with a gun to their heads... Example...

haha, sorry i was just pitching in with a "My Fair Lady" quote, with all this discussion of pronunciation. I mysewf speak wiff da Queens English, i does.
Also, for the record, i pronounce 'h' as atich, but i also pronounce 'z' as zed, pronouncing it "zee" sounds strange to me.
I was under the impression "Haitch" was the American way of say "H", and "Aitch" was the British English pronunciation.

I love it when someone says they want an "expresso" and (trying subtly to correct them) you ask how they can stand "espresso" because it's so strong, and *whiff* it goes right over their head.
jet ski is a brand as well made by Kawasaki, all of said crafts are considered pwc's I don't like best buys name for the 3G iPhone as iphone 3GB!
I hate when people refer to laptop computers as notebooks, isn't a notebook something you write in?
