It looks like Peel now offers a completely CLEAR, ultra thin case for the 8/8+/X (and maybe other models, didn't check).

This is the first time I have seen a clear case this thin. I have an email out to them to ask them if it's the same semi-stiff PP material the others are made of, or if it's TPU/similar, and I'm guessing it's the latter.

But what I can't find anywhere, is ANY experience anyone has with one of these. Anyone tried this? How was/is it?

I’ve been looking at the Totallee clear case which is definitely TPU but I can’t find anywhere in the UK that stocks it.

I like that it has button covers unlike the usual cutouts on the Veil XT, Tozo, Peel etc cases

It´s a kind of TPU, i have one and don´t like it….

Can you post pics/review?

Does it have the microdots inside the back?

Has it scuffed the stainless on your X?

Why don't you like it?

Hello.
No microdots inside, didn’t scuff anything. I have the space grey X.
I prefer the thinner ones, like Caudabe.
I’ll post some pics when I can!

Please do! I was under the impression it's the same thickness as the other ultra thins...

Heard back from Peel, they said it's a type of TPU that is stiffer than typical TPU and will also not yellow over time. Hmmm...I'm interested.

I was looking for a case that has a lip only on the corners, similar to the mous but that at the same time would show the back of the phone.

Does anyone know of a case like this?

I think it's genius to have the lip in the front in an angle that only the corners have the lip to avoid interfering with swipes

I've tried both the totallee and Peel. The Peel one got all scratched up and looked horrible after a week. I liked the material at first, some sort of flexible plastic. But it started looking so bad so quickly. The Caudabe seems to be exactly the same as the Peel - just less expensive. I love the totallee. It's a better material that doesn't show scratches that well. It's so hard to find a good clear case. Otterbox also has a cool clear case called the Symmetry which lasted me for a whole year. But its a bit beefier. If you're looking for a clear case that is also thin, go with the totallee. I think it's the best one out there.

Pics of either? Not sure how I feel about the covered buttons on the totallee...

Got the case today, here are some pics and a review. My current case is the matte/frosted Peel/Tozo ultra thin, which has a really nice feel and which I've been really happy with.

-My previous experience with clear cases is exclusively with really nice, rock hard polycarbonate that is crystal clear and strong. Never had any type of silicony/TPU-y style case. Peel says this is a stiffer type of TPU that will not yellow. It is stiffer than other TPU style cases I see advertisements for - you wouldn't want to try folding this one in half. Yellowing remains to be seen but looks ok out of the box.

-The fitment is good, button cutouts are acceptable. All I really ask is that the buttons don't rub against the cutouts, and they don't. Sometimes they do on these ultra thin cases - sometimes the cases are good, sometimes they are junk because of the cutouts. This one is good, thankfully.

-It DOES have microdots. I was a little disappointed in this (I understand why they are there with glass backed phones but it seemed maybe Peel had found a way to get away without them), but the dots really are micro - much smaller than I expected and I had to look for them.

-The clarity is not great. Probably partly because of the microdots, and partly because of the material itself. It just isn't crystal clear like a polycarbonate. Honestly, it just looks dirty. It did come with a protective film on the backside of the case which I removed, and I rinsed the case out and rubbed it down good inside and out with a damp lint free cloth, dried it with a dry lint free cloth, and then got it extra dry with a can of compressed air. Still, it just looks not only not crystal clear, but just generally unclean? Looks like it needs a good wipedown inside and out, which is odd. It's probably like 85-90% optically transparent (think of all those screen protectors advertising 99.9% optical clarity, lol - this doesn't have it). I don't want to say it's cloudy, it's just...not very clear.

-The texture is smooth which I like/prefer, but it does have that rubbery feel that it looks like it would have. Most people might like this, but I like it really smooth and slippery in my hand. Not expecting it to get stuck sliding it in and out of pockets or anything like that though. I don't expect it to be durable to withstand scratches like a polycarbonate or the frosted matte ultra thin cases made of PP. It probably will look terrible quite soon.

-Would I buy it again? I'm not sure. I don't hate it, or even dislike it, but the clarity and overall grimy look really takes away from it. I like that ultra thin cases are now finally coming in clear, but it just isn't clear enough yet. I should note here that it is also NOT quite as thin as the non clear models, but close. On the other models the side buttons are flush with the case, on this one they are recessed a bit so I know the case is thicker.

-Overall: 6/10. Would be 9/10 if the clarity were better.

Now that I think about it, could the microdots leave permanent marks on the glass?

Frankly, I'm waiting for this case for my new iPhone Xs.
The Peel clear case is my favorite on my iPhone X over Totallee because it's super thin and it doesn't cover the buttons. I dropped my phone several imes on a tile and cement -- no damage or scratch. I noticed the case around the buttons and camera is a little higher. So when you drop your phone the buttons and camera will not scratch. The other super thin cases I have (Caudabe, Totallee) would've scuffed the finish because the case is the same height as the buttons and camera.
NOTE: It does gets dirty after a while. Call Peel and complain and they'll send you a replacement for free.

If it’s TPU, it’s going to yellow. Just a matter of time. The best TPU clear case I’ve had was the Spigen, but that yellowed over time and looked pretty nasty.

These cases are ULTRA overpriced. I got literally the same ones for $2 or so each on Chinese sites, or even eBay.

just like Apple's own leather and silicone cases. They are uber ultra overpriced. Same cases you can get off Aliexpress for about $5-$10 ;)
I did this. But the quality was really bad, I swear. Compared to my official one. I'm now trying to sell them and no one can beat Apple's cases.
