You do get live classes with digital membership. You just can't get live stats and ranks displayed on the screen. I have the digital membership and it totally worth the money. I have no plan to purchase the Peloton bike or treadmill. I just play it on the TV and run on my Proform treadmill and do some Yoga.

I have the bike at home and (pre COVID) used the app on my phone at the gym treadmill. I agree the app is great with any treadmill, no integration required. However, the experience on third party bikes is definitely not the same, even if they have cadence and resistance readouts.

Ditto, Peloton nailed it from every perspective - hardware, software , instructors, quality and direction of the classes. You literally feel like you are in a spin class with 50 people. Worth every penny.
I couldn't agree more....such an enjoyable experience.

When I tried it out a few months back, I saw some live class had 1000+ in them.

I’ll have to look at my phone app closer. I like to bookmark classes I want to take on my phone so when I get on the bike I can find them easy. I honestly didn’t see a “schedule” tab like on the bike.

Edit, I stand corrected! Live on schedule available, but my membership is the full bike membership. So these show on the digital only too?

Wow, really happy to read the great reviews from folks in this thread about the Peloton bike as I’ve been thinking of investing in one.
Question to anyone who owns one: can the bike go on carpet or does it have to be on a bare floor?
Thanks.

It can go on a carpet but it may wobble a little until it sinks in. Depends on the pile of the carpet.

This is what the area looks like that I’m hoping to set it up. Not sure if that pile to too thick or not. Thoughts?

I am by no means fat but I worked out in front of my tv for the first time in forever yesterday and today everything hurts. How long before this whole work out stuff becomes fun as all those influencers try to make you believe? 🤣

You can, at least on the digital app.

I wonder if this means that instead of dual screening it with my phone and TV, I can get cadence and heart rate displayed on the TV? Currently, all the other stats showing how far you are into the workout, heart rate, cadence, and what not display live on your phone. The phone shows the instructor as a freeze-frame, while the instructor plays full-screen on the TV without any of the metrics. It would be nice if it all was on one screen.

Unfortunately when using the bike there's no way to directly pair the AW to it without using some 3rd party workarounds. Would be great to be more seamless

It can go on either.

If you're just looking for a great workout, I went the Bowflex C6 route and do the Peloton classes on the digital app. You lose some of the functionality, namely output, and leaderboard, but if you're just in it for a great workout it's a nice cost-saving option. Peloton does a great job making the classes fun, you'll get that experience regardless of which bike you're on.

Not that you want to hear this, but may save others some money, if you get the Schwinn IC4, its the same bike, but about $150 less.

Also, you may want to check out Les Mills On Demand, they have some amazing work outs.
