Question -

So I exchanged my iphone for a new one through apple support over the phone (due to scuffs on iphone 5). They put a temp authorization for $749 on my card until I returned my old one.

Looked today and the pending authorization is no longer there but I still have not mailed out my old phone to them yet.

Did I just get a free phone?

Well the thing is they originally, by mistake on their part, put a temporary authorization of over $1000 on my card. I called and told them they needed to change the temp authorization to $749. They apologized and did so a few days ago...now there's nothing there.

The auth could have dropped off if it's been a few days but they will get their money if you don't return the phone.

Or you can try your luck with a $749 scuffed iPhone. :)

It was probably a test to see if you had the available funds before proceeding with the transaction. If you don't return the phone, they will charge you for it.

Thats what I was thinking...and obviously I am going to return it still....

But was wondering if anyone slipped through the cracks?
