If you're taking SEPTA from the airport to 30th street station, just remember that the R1 (airport line) only travels to Center City Philly :13 and :43 after every hour.

That's twice as much as it used to do. Of course, if it says :13, that really means :25, doesn't it? <resists telling story> :p

depending on when you arrive in Mechanicsburg, either my wife or I could make the time for a whopping 10-min drive to Carlisle... let me know. can't help with bus info though - i'd have to rely on the same internets you have.

Thank you for such a generous offer! Although I don't think I'm able to take your offer, if things change, I hope you don't mind if I do.

I just bought my ticket for August 8th, arriving in Philadephia on the 9th at 12:45 am! I may just stick around for the first train or rent a car, in which case I'd take you up on your offer the next day when I need a ride back from dropping the car off.

You might want to check out SEPTA to get more information. You'll need to take the Airport Line to City Hall and switch to the Market-Frankford line, taking that west to 30th street. Since the Airport Line is Regional Rail, I believe there are two different fares involved. Also, the City Hall station is very confusing, so you might need help.

Once you get to 30th street, you have to go above ground. Then, you'll see the Amtrak station just north of you.
