Penryn Macbook Pro Matte or Glossy?

Hello if you going to buy a new Penryn MBP what screen do you prefer Matte or Glossy?
 
No offence here, but the answers to these threads are always the same and there are a myriad of them here on MR already, try the search.
As a sum-up though, it's all a matter of preference and application.
 
Matte - better and more accurate colors, less glare

*The matte displays starting from the prior revision seem to have a slight gloss, so its almost in-between. If you haven't seen one of the new screens I would recommend checking it out.
 
I got matte on my 17" SR a while back, and I got matte again on my 15" penryn this week.

I went to the apple store quite a few times to see if I liked glossy and I just can't get over the glare.

I'm sure others will warn you to search, but I'll skip that :)

I jsut picked up a Matte MBP yesterday (which replaced a Matte MBP) - I went into the store ready to switch to Glossy and had they had any in stock I would have done it.

Before upgrading to the MBP I had a regular MacBook and the glossy screen, I never really had any problems with it but when I moved into the MBP world and had a choice I decided to leave the fingerprints and dust behind and went Matte.

When I had the option again yesterday I looked at 3 machines side by side in this order from left to right: a Glossy MB, a glossy MBP and a matte MBP - the thing that jumped out at me was that the glossy MBP didn't look as glossy as the MB, even after I ran my finger across the screen intentionally it wasn't as bad as I had expected.

I would have gone glossy if they had it in stock but being as impatient as I am, and not really having a preference for glossy I stuck with Matte.

I really think its a personal taste so you should try and see both side by side and decide.
 
I ordered a matte screen. Go to an Apple store and compare the two. I was debating it, but then I saw the two side by side and I knew matte was the way to go for me.

here in Lithuania there isint apple store :)
 
Matte :) But like someone said, the matte seems to be a bit glossier this time around compared to my old Powerbook.
 
i am at peace now. waiting patiently for my MBP with matte screeen

believe me, man its a tough choice, i even ordered the glossy online, cancelled it when i had second thoughts, went to the apple store to A-B, prayed for guidance, then asked myself some simple questions:

what will i be doing with this machine?
where do i see myself with this?

personally, this will be my only computer, so i need the versatility of being able to work anywhere, coffee shop, studio etc...

but i finally made up my mind when i saw myself in my 'element'
on stage, alone with my MBP performing music with a solo spotlight hanging overhead.

at that point, i knew the glossy was not the one for me...

so.

ask yourself the same questions. sit quietly. and trust your intuition!
then sleep...
 
Matte. Glossy is good for viewing photos and videos but I prefer matte for general computing.
