Penryn Battery Life

There is some incremental speed improvements, however, battery life is meant to be the strong point of this chipsets release. Take a look at this great article from Anandtech.

Something else I haven't seen mentioned much is resale value - buy a MBP now and in a month it has already depreciated much more than if you had waited to buy the new ones.

Something do to with spending 2K+ on old mobile processors.

Penryn is new, older processors are old.

On the other hand, I'm so happy with my Jul 2007 MBP. There's nothing missing on it, in my opinion. Updates are great and everything, but there will always be lighter, cheaper, faster. Aside from the USB power issues, the current gen is pretty solid.
