Penryn, Montevina and Nehalem on Battery Life

Obviously the Penryn MBP's battery life improvement was statistically significant. So, for the interested buyer, what effects will Montevina and/or Nehalem have on battery life? Will we continue to see improvements or is this a new standard, and therefore a good time to buy a MBP?
