Paperdesk just released today, just got the lite version (free). I have to say, its a nice app, easy to use, great layout. They need to work on the writing feature though (penultimate has them hands down there), but the typing feature in Paperdesk is very easy and nice as well..

    anyone else have oppinions?

I've downloaded both and I'm still undecided. If Penultimate would add the typing option and color options for writing it would be a harder decision. I'm leaning towards Paperdesk right now because of those reasons and the way you can organize the notebooks.

What's the difference between PaperDesk and PaperDesk Lite, besides the two bucks?

I have Penultimate and it's nice. However, I'm still waiting for an App that will ignore my resting palm on the iPad surface as pen/finger input. Do you think this is possible? It seems to me like ignoring input from anything bigger than a finger would solve this issue.

Agreed. Maybe some sort of toggle so that the app only recognizes input from a very small diameter?

My iPad just got ordered today and I have a probably stupid question. Can you use a stylus for an app like this?

I'm not impressed by PaperDesk, but Sundry Notes looks pretty nice. Still hope that Penultimate adds text though.

IMHO... Penultimate still has the best free-hand writing capability, better than PaperDesk and Sundry.

But the other two have more features (type text, sound recording, etc).

If Penultimate just add these features, there would be a no competition.

I heard the developers are easy to talk to. If we express some of the downsides to Penultimate, I think they would implement them.

I like Sundry Notes (formerly School Notes Pro). Great functionality.

I hated their old icon.... glad they changed it.

I just downloaded Paperdesk and tried it.

I didn't like it. The system seemed to be bogging down and it doesn't seem to be accurate when writing. The text is fine, whenever I can get a chance to even press the text button.

I think its got a long way to go. I only used the LITE version.
