Thank Apple for making the decision easier. Which is upsetting to say... I honestly hoped all the rumors were wrong. Just about everything Apple announced today, Android has had for over a year. LTE, Pictures while taking video, bigger screen (which I still feel the 16:9 4" isn't really much of an improvement.. especially for web browsing. Most of all, no NFC and no LED indicator light.

Basically, you are crying about things that other people told you to cry about. Those two things are not deal breakers.

Agree , when Apple bring out a new phone it goes straight into the lead , this one does not even match up to its rivals.

I own a retina MBP, a 2011 iMac, I've owned all iPad versions and every iPhone version. I love Apple, this iPhone was disappointing though.

And no, the screen is still to small, iOS looks the same as it did when I bought my 2g iPhone 5 years ago. It has become stale to me. The iPhone is very polished and its build quality is top notch (as with anything Apple releases) but this was just extremely underwhelming when you look at something like the Galaxy S3.

Hold on just a minute and think about what you're saying. Apple didn't implement NFC or an LED indicator light. There are a few things wrong with those two things.

Apple didn't implement NFC. Okay? Yeah, it sucks. Switching to Android isn't going to help you much. NFC compatible payment places in the states are few and far between with Google Wallet and other than that, there isn't much to NFC. Now, the notification light. I wouldn't have minded getting one, but honestly, it's something you learn to live without. I made the switch coming from my OG Droid to the iPhone 4. It was a forgotten feature after two weeks.

About the rest of your post: You're correct. Android did have LTE and picture while taking video implemented before Apple did. Only thing is, it's implemented poorly. Take LTE for example. It's a great feature, but it's implementation inside of the phone required a lot of space being used up by the voice+LTE radio chips. Not to mention that LTE on Android phone's obliterated battery life. Apple decided to a wait a year for the chips to mature, for them to become combined instead of being two separate chips, and for the chips to become more battery efficient. In the end, Apple's implementation is best for many reasons (battery life, space inside of the device, etc.). I've never used the picture while taking video feature on an iPhone or an Android to make comparisons with that.

Apple may have taken longer to adopt these technologies, but in the end, it was for the better. Also, don't forget that right now Apple is the only one using dual-core A15 chips in the iPhone 5. No one else even has them developed on the mass scale that Apple does. That in and of itself is reason to upgrade.

TL;DR: Android is great in that it implemented technologies early, but is poor in that those technologies were new and relatively untested. Apple is great for waiting on those technologies to mature, but is poor in that had no one adopted the 1st gen chips, no further development possibly would've gone on to lead to the more mature chips.

Sorry it doesn't meet your needs. My household is immersed in the Apple ecosystem so the iOS experience outweighs some of the hardware limitations. I've been using a Galaxy Nexus for a couple of weeks and while there are a few features I'll miss, found its size a touch too big for my personal liking (difficult one handed use, especially at the top of the screen), miss the seemless integration with other OS X and iOS devices and look forward to switching back to an iPhone next week.

    Too each their own.

    1. NFC is used in a lot of places, I can think of about 15 of the top of my head.
    2. Switching from iPhone 4S to Galaxy S3 the LED light is the smallest but such a useful feature.
    3. LTE in my Galaxy S3 works great, my Galaxy S3 gets better battery life than my iPhone did.
    4. Not to mention the battery is easily exchangeable so you can have several.
    5. MicroSD expansion.

Now there are a few things I'd love to see in iOS. The ability to turn off Tweet and the coming Facebook functions from the popup menu in pics and web pages, etc. since those of use that don't use those things would like them universally removed from the list of options.

Don't mistake what I am saying as bashing Apple saying that Apple sucks or anything. Apple is the #1 company for a reason. Their build quality is almost unbeatable. I just think iOS is becoming stale and the screen width is a letdown.

ICS is light years ahead of iOS. Try actually learning how to use it before calling it crappy...

Apple spent more time talking about how a diamond edged cutter made the bezel so nice looking and that they used sapphire glass over the camera lens than actual useful hardware and software. That pretty much sums up the iphone in a nutshell. In other words, Apple made it look a bit prettier and nothing else.

    Innovation has left the building.

Glad I bought my S3 long ago and have been paying for things with Google wallet and having my settings auto. Automatically change from car mode to home mode thanks to NFC tags, have upgraded my memory to hold 80gb of data, enjoy using my ps3 controller to play Nintendo, psx and first person shooter games like modern Combat, love having the ability to open and edit files and email them, etc...

IPhone... Antiquated and stale os. And it isn't even being sold yet. I can't believe people actually want this. Save your money and buy the 4S. It's the same thing, just has a slightly shorter display.

Yes, it is. Jelly Bean even n more so.

Hardcore Apple fans complain about Android users in their boards, so a subforum is made for us, and all they do is come here and troll. How nice.

I admit.. im pondering the idea of a International Galaxy S3 myself....

No LTE but it has a Wolfsan DAC.. nuff said

And the Quad core Enyos... which to my undestanding is faster than the A6
