...if you miss the Home button, you do know that you can use Apple's virtual Home button as well (which works like the physical one but is a virtual on screen button), which is accessed via the Accessibility Settings?

I've been doing this very thing on my 8 Plus over the past year, so as to not constantly press the physical button.
;)
where on accessibility do you do that?

What home button? Can't remember the last time I even thought about it. It's so intuitive that its a non issue.

Quite the opposite, I’m finding the home button on the iPad extremely bothersome, I keep swiping up.

I don't miss it at all. I was excited when I heard that Apple was doing away with it on the X. I love the gestures: it's similar to a jailbreak that I loved for the same reason.

I absolutely love the gestures and don't miss the home button at all and now it actually takes some time for me to get used to an older iPhone every time I use one.
My hands sweat a lot, TouchID wouldn't work half the time. However FaceID works like a charm!

This is a big leap for me. I desperately need a new phone and found a Jailbroken 256 GB X for $950. Is that a good deal? I'm just a little hesitant bc of the home button, I constantly find myself using it on my 6 in ways I can't think of them supplementing with any kind of gesture. For instance when I accidentally open the wrong app and quickly hitting the home button is by far the fastest way to exit back to the home screen, and multitasking/switching between apps are just a couple of examples. I'm excited but nervous, I've become extremely accustomed to the home button. If the removal of it is going to impact my user experience that much I am considering just getting an 8 or a 6S, or will I eventually be forced to do without the home button in the near future?

Can anyone tell me if these are reasonable concerns or have they supplemented the home button adequately even for the instances I mentioned? Thanks!

Never.

When I first got my X, it took a little while for me to stop trying to push it out of habit, but most of that stopped after a couple of hours, and it went away entirely after a few days, IIRC.

It only took me a day or two and was very comfortable with my X. Love FaceID so much I bought the MAX.

What is hard is going back to a TouchID phone after using FaceID!

I hope Apple comes out with the new iPads soon with FaceID!

Multitasking and getting back to the home screen via gestures is very efficient and effortless for me now that I've become accustomed to it. At this point if I were to use any other phone I'd keep doing the swipe up gesture and wonder why it wasn't doing anything. It's become second nature for me.

Nope. Don't need it. Sure it's an adjustment and I may reach for that button but it's not needed. Just tap the screen and it's on and face ID unlocks so in some ways it's very similar. In fact I find that navigating around on my phone, going to home, going back between apps, is faster on my Xs Max than with a home button on my 8+

I would NOT pay $950 for a used X as they are discontinued and that's damn near the price for new. Hell no. Close enough to the price of a new Xs that i'd spring for it.

I thought I was going to miss my home button.. I upgraded from a 6S to a XS. I didn't like the "fake" home button on the 7 or 8 but I must say after using the XS for a week now I actually prefer the gestures.

The only thing I don't like about the new full screens is that they tucked the access to the control panel into the top right.

Initially yes you do but once you get used to it, nah, good riddance home button. Try Face ID and only your own experience (not someone else’s words alone) will tell you - it’s just so convenient and better than Touch ID.

Thought faceid would suck, everything works so much better with the new gestures and the side button. (except the moving and deletion of apps)
