With all due respect, it seems like people are making a documentary about anything now. Is it really worth watching a documentary on a pepsi advertisment?

Documentary used to mean something educational, not talking about something that happened or still happening. Like WWI documentary. Now we have people raising cats in Sweden documentaries.

The each their own. There is no rule book and as you mentioned, war stuff is well documented already.

What happen to the art of telling a story in 2 1/2 hrs? Now everything has to be told in 3 seasons and 30 episodes. It’s starting to get old.

Generally speaking I have to agree (can’t judge this particular show yet of course) - the drag gets boring.

Dude, this "Pepsi advertisement" is one of the seminal cases taught in law school in contracts and business law. This is a much bigger deal than you realize.

WAIT JUST A MINUTE...

It says they have "ordered" this show, which means they have not started filming it yet? Which means it will be quite some time before we see it?
This is a re-telling and a historical documentary. They just need to interview the relevant parties (which I'm sure has been scheduled and agreed on by now, since this got approved).

This way they guarantee you keep watching to binge and stay subscribed.

Well if it is fine, but I don't need any more stupid documentaries on worthless topics trying to make it sound like its a bigger deal than it is like that dumb Netflix documentary about catching a cat torturer spread over 3 - 1hr episodes which could have been a 5min video.
