I am looking for a program that backsup DVDs onto my harddrive 1:1. I want my collection backed up in the same exact quality that I bought it in so that in the future I can use my digital copies to view it on HD TV's and whatnot. Does anybody know a program that copies 1:1, the final file size can be huge it doesn't matter. The closest thing I got was HandBrake but I don't know what to set it to to make it an exact copy. Thanks.

ya but then I need something to turn it into a readable format

MacTheRipper makes readable files...just go to your DVD Player app, and open the Video_TS file from the backup

I've had much better luck with RipIt than MacTheRipper. Almost all recent movies include all kinds of tricks like deliberate bad sectors to try to thwart programs like MTR, and it fails miserably on these. RipIt apparently uses a DVD player engine internally to only grab the portions of the disc that are playable, thereby skipping the deliberate errors. It hasn't been 100% perfect, but has had a far higher success rate on newer discs.
