hello

i have been reading these forums for a while now, and i thought i would comment.

I just wanted to let everyone know that there are some great macs out there. A couple of months ago i bought a refurbished 2.16 core duo macbook pro 17", as my first ever Mac, and i have to say i absolutely love it macos x is 100% better than any versions of windows i have tried, and i have no crashing issues, sound, screen, battery, power, superdrive or any other problems.

The laptop does heat up quite a bit, but nothing to really worry about, probably due to the metal casing, but its so quiet, boots up in approx 20 seconds and is really fast!

I have now started recommending mac's to everyone i know, they are without a doubt the best computers on the market at the moment, and they even run linux which is a great advantage

Keep the faith

John

17 inch MBPs come with 2.33GHZ core 2 Duo processors, not 2.16 Core Duos. That is, if you bought it a couple of months ago.

On the internet, where one only ever hears complaints, it's nice to hear good stories every once in a while.

Good call on the MBP.

This is my second ever new Mac purchase. I've been buying used since the Apple ll days. The first new Mac was an 867mgz Quicksilver and Apple sent the wrong system discs, so when it came time to problem solve, do maintenance, install partitions, etc. it was a complete nightmare and the worst Apple experience of my life. The time and $ I wasted had me cursing Apple. I had vowed not to buy a new mac again. But I just broke my vow with the new MBP 2.4ghz Glossy.
