The Recent files tab shows me files that were somehow used, but by far not everything I recently opened, downloaded or created. I used to have a smart folder for this, but at some point it became cluttered with a huge number of tiny system files, so it became unusable. Now Catalina has doubled down on this. I’ve tried excluding system files, excluding invisible files, nothing works.
