Perfect timing! PB 12" dies while $46 one is enroute.

My 12" PB started booting to a grey screen, I haven't really tried much yet, but PRAM reset doesn't work. Time for a little target disk mode and maybe a DVD boot.

That shows the signs of a hard drive failure. Let us know how it goes with the new model. What spec is this PowerBook that died?

1Ghz, 1.25GB, 40GB, SD. And it's back!
I booted in TDM and it mounted on another PB, I ran disk utility and it passed. Now it's fine.

It could have been some corruption on the volume.
