Is performance the same on 14 inch MBP as on 16 inch MBP if you choose same specifications on both? Is, for example M1max built in each, same chip or does 14 inch have some kind of lower wattage version chip?
So practically, the only benefit of 16 inch is more screen real estate and probably better thermal solutions?

I understand that. I may have asked the wrong question. But still... what is the benefit of 16 inch, other than screen real estate and better thermal solutions (and few other things, such as better speakers, etc.)?

remember the price difference is only $200 , so yes..probably the speakers system is a little bit better also...probably with better thermals and better battery..but the performance it should be the same if the 14" can sustain that m1 max 32 gpu cores
 
Bigger screen, bigger battery, and better thermos, but everything else is the same and should perform about the same
