Anyone who’s been running the beta/GM/full release of today on iPhone X able to weigh in as to whether we are at the point where iOS updates are starting to slow down the phone for daily usage? My iPhone X has still been pretty buttery smooth until iOS 13 began to make me notice a few hiccups, slow launching apps and whatnot here and there. That’s to be expected for an older phone, but I was just curious what I can expect for iOS 14!

I have been using iOS 14 since beta 1, and to be honest my X feels as snappy as on iOS13 nothing noticeable..... everything works.... that's coming from a heavy user!

This for me to. Been using iOS 14 since Beta 3

As X users, do any of you have trouble with the phone switching from cell service to WiFi calling, if any of you use it, while on an active call? Reception at my condo building is poor so i use WiFi calling but if i am on an active call while I walk into my unit, the phone won't switch over until I terminate the call. I can only assume it's the phone OS (currently 13.7), but who knows. I am hoping iOS 14 might help with that issue. Thanks for any thoughts.

I’ve had no issue with Wi-fi calling & mobile signal on so far with the iPhone X

Just put it on my X, working fine for me. I'm going to run this X as long as I can, still perfectly happy with it. See no reason to upgrade for a while, until I shatter it or the battery swells and explodes.

Battery is draining faster but feels faster than iOS 13. I updated it 12 hours ago so battery might get better as time goes by. My X currently has 90% battery health.

on my X,
every app other than apples' has black bars up and below, as if it was made for a notchless older phone.
Same apps on iphone 11 of my collegue is fullscreen.
WTF?

XS Max here, performance is as it was. No noticeable downgrade.

This was obvious before, with every iOS version phones would become slower. You could see this with opening Settings.app. With every version it would take slightly longer and longer. That doesn’t seem to be the case these days.

Seems faster and snappier. Battery life seems exactly the same to me so far.

I think the days of iOS updates slowing down older phones is pretty much over. Even the older chips from the 6s onwards are pretty damn fast.

Thanks for all of the responses, guys! Sounds like a safe bet. My X has actually maintained decent battery life and health (86% now on a launch day phone and averaging around 4 hours or more SOT a day), so I'm hoping it'll stay that way with 14 and I can squeak out another year.
