How is the performance on a mid 2012 MBP? I have 8GB OF RAM but a standard HDD not a SSD. Is it no different than Hi-Sierra?

Slower with so much logging/debugging running on the betas. Btw, change your HDD to a SSD, you will love it.

I may not upgrade if its slower but I suspect the problem to be fixed by September.
Historically, the GM, 10.xx.1, 10.xx.2 are slower and buggier than the last version of the previous macOS.

Usually all stabilizes around 10.xx.3. That's the time when I upgrade my work Macs.

I hope that Mojave runs just as well if not better than Hi-Sierra on my Mac or I may not upgrade.

I have mid 2012 retina MBP with 8 Gig ram and SSD. I downgraded from High Sierra to Sierra due to performance problems. I was very happy with Sierra in terms of performance.

Upgraded to Mojave Public Beta last week and am very happy with the performance. Equally as fast as Sierra if not slightly faster. No lags and everything generally feels snappy.

Just my tuppence worth.

EDIT: first three days, my hard drive was constantly working as Dropbox and Photos synced everything up and then it settled down quite nicely.
