I ordered a new iMac the other day with the following specs:

2.7GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
4GB RAM Will upgrade to 8GB at a later date
1TB HDD
AMD Radeon HD 6770M with 512MB

And here are the specs of my current PC

Intel Core i7 290 2.66GHz overclocked to 3.4GHz
6GB Tri-channel RAM
1TB HDD
ATI Radeon HD 4850 with 512MB

I use my computer for photo editing in Photoshop and some rather light video editing along with general web browsing and word processing. Oh and Minecraft.

So, I would like to know, how much of a performance decrease will I get/notice if any? I prefer Mac OS X over Windows but is this a bad move?

Keep in mind that your new Sandy Bridge processor can turbo boost to 3.7ghz.

I have the same iMac and it's fast as heck. I absolutely love it.
