permanently booting 10.6.2 kernel in 64 bit mode

problem is I cant get it to work, I still have to hold down "6" and "4" to boot into 64 bit mode. I edited and verified the changes in my com.apple.boot as described here but it still boots into 32 bit mode..

anyone? 🙂
