Just had a new hard drive installed by Apple and ever since, I cannot access or reinstall third party programs. I always get some type of "do not have access permissions", "error #-5000 - initializing authorization" and similar. I can't even delete programs without being told I do not have permissions. I can't even send files to trash without being told that I do not have permissions. Pretty soon I won't be able to go to the restroom without permissions.

Even when I seem to succeed in deleting a file it never shows up in the trash bin. Just let's me know that it will be permanently deleted.

I've called iMac support numerous times. Followed direction to do everything from repair permissions, reset permissions, reinstall programs etc. and obviously we have not reached the motherlode yet.

Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Did you run a permission repair with Disk Utility?
