Hello,

I just submitted the following bug report to Apple. I don't count on hearing back from them so I thought I'd ask here. Has anybody encountered this issue with Permissions Repair?

Summary:
Permissions Repair & Check finishes instantly after execution, far too fast to have performed any tasks.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Disk Utility Permissions Repair
a. execute Check Permissions
b. execute Repair Permissions

2009-04-17 23:49:10 -0700: Permissions repair complete

Expected Results:
I expect the process to take 1-5 minutes both for checking and repairing.

Actual Results:
Instantaneous "completion". Clearly no process has occurred.

Notes:
Attempted to delete user library disk utility plist file and attempted creating new admin user account. Also attempted running disk utility from OEM DVD. Manually changed permissions on various files which created known errors that should be caught by Permissions Repair yet problem still is persistant. Always occurs, regardless.

Attempted 3rd party utility app Cocktail for permissions repair yet same result.
