I'm seeing this show up when I do a permissions repair in Snow Leopard 10.6.2
Permissions differ on "usr/share/derby", should be drwxr-xr-x, they are lrwxr-xr-x
    Repaired "usr/share/derby"

It shows up each time I do this. Anyone else seeing this?

Couple of things to say about this post. One, You can NOT safely ignore EVERY message that Repair Permissions comes up with. Those are the ONLY ones you can safely ignore. Any others are issues. Also, Repairing Permissions is a routine maintenance task, meaning that even if you are not having problems, you want to repair permissions.

To the OP, I have also noticed this message popping up in my Disk Utility. I found this Apple Discussion on the topic ( It seems after a recent Java Update, Apple changed this file to a Symbolic Link, thus, not allowing Disk Utility to fix the issue. Please read further into the Discussion for more information.
