When I press my contacts icon, the iPad screen. There is this, information
Car Gurus Admin. Is this normal? I bought this pad used. Is it something 1st owner installed? I cannot get it to go away. It shows that there are no contacts listed, so i cannot go in to it to get rid of it. I have clicked on it, double clicked it nothing has an effect on it. This drives me crazy not knowing what this is, why it is there, how it got there and why I have not been able to get rid of it

Just to be sure, do a complete factory reset on your ipad.

If you don't believe it, I can't believe it. I went back after checking email of this posting, not knowing how to save my photos and videos I could not return pad to original settings, and the back up thing was above my pay grade. Went back to contacts to play around with trying to find different ways to get rid of it, and it was gone. It's like someone caught on to what I was about to discover and took it away. Crazy!! My guess is that it will come back, who knows. Thanks guys but this is to weird, don't expect answer as to why, just weird

Seems your ipad used to belong to the car selling company Car Gurus. Are you British? It's an english company : www.cargurus.co.uk

What you describe seems typical of an iPad with corporate MDM (Mobile Device Management) software installed. I hope it was resold legally, but it seems so. It's possible an admin at Car Gurus noticed your ipad was still ringing home, perhaps the MDM hadn't been removed properly before reselling, and issued a remote command to de-register the MDM.

One way to check is to look at Settings > General > Profile, and see if a profile for Car Guru or someone else is listed there. You may be able to delete it there and then, with no further consequences.

A word of warning - some corporate iPads are 'supervised', which mean they are locked to the company, and even a full reset, erase, and reinstall will not clear this lock. If you try to do so, it will ask for company credentials when reinstalling, and you may be left with an non-functioning iPad. To check whether your device is supervised, go to Settings > General > About and you can see something like "This iPad is supervised" or "This iPad is managed by *** MDM". In this case, you will have to go back to whoever you bought it from.

See this thread "Removing MDM profile from an iPad that I have legally purchased" https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7570594
