The rounded edges and mostly aluminum back on the 6/6+ really remind me of the original iPhone.

I can definitely see some original iPhone in the 6/6+ design. Also, the 6/6+ design really follows the aesthetics of Apples other current products, the iPad and MacBooks, I think the iPhone 6/6+ is really the most premium looking iPhone. Models before the 6 sort of followed the same cues, and they finally strayed away from it. It was bound to happen. It still looks like an iPhone though, I just think the fit and finish is a lot more high end flagship looking, despite how much I loved the 4/4S glass slab design.

Although I've lurked here five years prior searching on info for iPods, I basically registered here in June 2010 just because of iPhone 4. My earliest posts here was about that model. That phone was monumental for me as it was the first iPhone that not only was truly redesigned but had all the features I wanted from a phone refined into a nice package. And while iOS4 wasn't as big of an upgrade as iOS5 and iOS7 would be, it was quite smooth and refined before all the Apple bloat.I would watch that 6 min iPhone 4 introduction on loop anytime I was bored with good ol' Scott Forstall and all.

The first iPhone was quite magical in its own way too. But if I had to back to a previous iPhone, I honestly would not go back to iPhone 4/4s. I can easily get a 4s for $120 second hand but I just couldn't live going back to a 2011 camera and 3.5 inch screen for texting. The furthest back is iPhone 5s. The iPhone 5 and all the prior ones would not really hold up well for me during 2015 for my daily uses. If Apple decides to double the RAM this year, then say four years later nothing has increased, then iPhone 6s Plus would be my furthest back choice if this was asked in 2019.

I'd say it's the original 2G iPhone. When it came out, I was only 8 years old, and being 8 years old, it was probably THE coolest piece of technology that I had ever seen. My uncle got it on launch day, or maybe a few days after, and brought it to my house to show it off. My mind was simply blown, that someone could watch movies or browse the internet on that little device.

The original iPhone, a game-changer and an astonishing design classic. What a beauty!*

*I was like "this is it!", the beginning of the end of the fugly flip-phones which were everywhere here in USA.

This thread made me want to go watch the keynote Jobs gave for the iPhone 4 in 2010. It was pretty interesting stuff to watch! There was a casualness to it that is a bit missing in the Cook keynotes. The way he constantly hassles everyone about using up the Wi Fi was pretty good, and I laughed when, referring to the in-house app iMovie for iPhone, he says "It'll cost 4.99... if we approve it."

Good stuff.

My mum's got a black iPhone 4S running iOS6... I should trade my iPhone 5 to her for it :p
