cooknn, sonictruth, thanks for the detailed Quicken posts.

Thank you both for Quicken related posts, I really appreciate having all the different aspects and viewpoints of multiple users. I had used M$'s Money on th e PC and really liked that program, too bad they won't produce that for Mac, or Apple make something of their own (that you know would just be great).

The quest is still on for me. I just downloaded and tried iBank from iggsoftware and it, of the ones I have trialed thus far, is probably the best IMO. I cannot figure out the analysis function yet (more than likely just me) but the rest of it is awesome and the ability to import .qif files is a great time saver. Still waiting on liquidledger for their trial, and then perhaps after those are all through, I'll have a nice long gander at Quicken.

I bought my first Mac 18 months ago and imported my Quicken data from the PC version. It goes back to 1998. No problems here.

How did you do that? I just read on the Quicken site that the conversion between PC and Mac Quicken results in a significant loss of data (they even offer to do the conversion themselves, for a $65 fee).

I did not use any online features at the time and I didn't mind losing my memorized transactions and reports. I basically used Quicken as a computerized register - no more. The conversion went fine for me.
