Verizon (maybe TMobile) have hotspot included for no additional charge.

Verizon allows it on all Share Everything and prepaid plans. I believe T-mobile, too, and reports are it even works with the 200MB free data.

AT&T allows it on all Mobile Share plans and the 5GB/$50 prepaid plan.

No idea about Sprint.

I picked up a financed Air last night and Personal Hotspot works.

Yet another confirmation for T-Mobile here. Just received my Micro SIM from T-Mobile last night. Popped it in my Verizon iPad 3 and activated with the 200MB free data and Personal Hotspot is working just fine. Granted, it's not like I'll be doing a lot of tethering with it on just 200MB of data. 😱

Yep. If you have Verizon's Share Everything plan, you're good to go for no additional cost. Unless of course you go over your data plan. 😉

Do not need share everything. I do not have it and my iPad Air has the Hotspot and I have used it right out of the box.

What carriers allow this feature on the iPad Air?

AT&T allows iPad hotspot with the $50 plan.

I called AT&T yesterday and confirmed they will not enable the hotspot if you have the grandfathered iPad unlimited data plan.

I bought 1 gig for $20 on the Verizon iPad Air and the Hotspot worked fine.
