Is tethering going to be free now with AT&T or is that a paid option only?
The words Apple, AT&T, and Free do not belong in the same sentence.
It is only free if the carrier chooses to offer it for free. Apple has nothing to do with it being free or costing money. Both ATT and Verizon charge for it.
Is this a serious question? Verizon is already charging 20 dollars for hotspot.
Why should AT&T make it free? No.
I assume it will be part of the tethering package for $20 a month extra. If you want it free, your best bet is to jailbreak and use MiWi.
I don't mind paying $20 extra as long as it's still unlimited data as I have currently.
Not free, comes when you pay for a tethering plan.
That wont happen.
They dont offer unlimited and a tethering data plan together.
They switched a long time ago.
AT&T just made a no comment on this to CNET.
4.3 is only adding wifi hotspot to GSM iPhones....Verizon has it in 4.2.6 they don't need this update...I'm assuming all software will line up this summer with 5.0 though
I think verizons is like 40-50 for 4 gb? Could be wrong though. Id expect att to be damn close to that.
Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C148 Safari/6533.18.5)
All to stop you from buying wifi tablets & laptops and hotspot tethering them without data plan. Just ridiculous.
I don't think they'll do this in Canada. You can already use Android 2.2+ hotspot without paying extra.
45 total for tethering from AT&T.
Apple, AT&T, Free
If you give ATT an extra $20 a month, they will give it to you for free.
