When using different SIM cards in my iPhone while traveling, the Personal Hotspot setting sometimes appears, but with other SIM cards the Personal Hotspot setting vanishes from the settings panel. What is the reason?
I would assume that, whether it appears or disappears, depends on what the particular Telco of the SIM card offers data tethering for the hotspot feature. But that doesn't appear to be consistent. For example, we telephoned one Telco's help desk, and they said their SIM cards did offer data tethering, but using their SIM card the Personal Hotspot setting did not show up in the settings.
