Personal Hotspot When Plugged Into iTunes

Maybe this is new because I haven't plugged my phone into my iMac for a while, but whenever I do plug my phone in to my computer, the blue personal hotspot notification pops up on my iPhone. Is this normal? Something I need to fix?

Maybe first you need to disable personal hotspot on your iPhone. Otherwise, iPhone will start hotspot using your cable.
