Personal Shopping - Set appointment for 5:30 pm Friday, 4/30

Well, all stores in the Seattle, WA metro area have blacked out the evening appointments. The last available appointment for personal shopping is 4pm 🙁

FWIW, the employee who said he'd hold it for my appointment also said he highly doubts they'll run out of stock Friday. He said that he expects a TON and that they're basically getting 2 days worth to cover Saturday too.

They are not anticipating this being anything like the iPhone releases or even the iPad day 1. Hope he's right. Either way, I feel pretty good about being covered.

If you are coming later in the day I don't think preorder will save you any time all. It's just for the people who want it right when it opened. Even at the one store that sold out in my area I was able to walk in at 3 o clock and purchase 2 wifi ipads with basically 0 wait while my friend who had a personal shopper had to wait a few extra minutes to find his personal shopper (we came together). You guys should be fine with or without the preorder .

And like Scott, when I called the store and spoke to them, they had no issue setting aside the unit that I requested in my appointment along with the accessories that I needed. I explained that I was taking an extended trip the next afternoon (I really am) and since they were an hour away, was it possible to set it up. I was frankly amazing at how helpful they were.

But as several folks have stated, I will be comfortable when it is in my hands and I am heading home.
