I need to give a persuasive speech on why iOS is better than the android operating system on cell phones. I was wondering to see what reasons everyone here thinks it is better and what reasons maybe I should touch on during my speech. Thanks for the responses guys.

I honestly don't think one is better than the other. I think I'd have a hard time making the argument that iOS is ultimately better.

Being "the better OS" is subjective. Just know that. Both operating systems offer a completely different experience.

    IMO, IOS offers:

-Fluidity (at least iOS 5 & 6 did) everything just flows naturally and feels great when using it.

-Simplicity (very easy to find your way around iOS. Does not get too complicated.

-Everything works (very rarely would you have to tinker with something in order to get it working)

-Eye Candy (Again, iOS 5 & 6 were more visually appealing)

-Optimized Apps (since iOS developers don't have to design their apps for different phones, the apps look really nice. Some also work better than Android apps.

Just touch upon those topics. Good luck.

Crashes when you do too much so you dont get things done
Lets you run one app at a time because you're dumb anyways
Needs to be jailbroken to be used to full capability/ personalized
Gets girlier and girlier by each update
People will buy a phone with it without thinking

Lol you sound negative but have a 5s? Not hating, just surprised. However, I agree with you on the jailbreak thing. Never had my 5 crash though.

I've got a 5S as well, but I prefer Android to iOS. Apple just makes fantastic hardware(aside from the small screen).

    iOS 7 is safer.

iOS 7 has a better App Store.

iOS 7 looks and feels nicer.

Although Android has come a long way, the interface on its home screen and it's features still feel a little cheap if you ask me. iOS seems more beautiful and elegant, and Control Center and Notification Center are just works of art.

Persuasive Speech on iOS 7 for iPhone

Things that make iOS better to me are generally subjective.

Like AirPlay, AirDrop, FaceTime, iMessage, photostream, etc. These are all services I love but being proprietary could be seen as a big negative.

I generally find iOS apps to be more visually appealing. Again subjective.

iOS is a more secure OS due to restrictions and app sand boxing. However again there is a negative as this can limit app functionality. Example would be DropBox auto upload is very limited compared to Android. And apps like Tasker can't even exist in iOS due to restrictions.

Device longevity with OS updates. Generally iOS devices get the latest version of iOS longer then Android. While that's true I'd be afraid of someone bringing up how older devices lack OS update features while core app feature updates are available to Android users through the play store regardless of OS version. Plus some iOS devices have no business getting the latest version of iOS due to performance issues.

I'd also try to wait till iOS 7.1. There are a lot of bugs that could be brought up in an educated counter debate. I think this would be a lot easier to argue iOS 6 vs Ice Cream Sandwich or something. Between tab reloading and safari crashing on newer iOS devices it can be an unpleasant browsing experience. If someone asked you to goto nin.com on your iPhone and they did the same on their Android phone it would be pretty embarrassing.

For every benefit I can think of with iOS I can think of an equally good reason it's not vs the competition. Be just as easy to argue Coke vs Pepsi IMO.

Thanks for the info guys. I feel I have a good direction of where I'm going with this speech. And I know that it is subject, but if it was not subjective then this speech would not be persuasive and would actually just be informative. Just like any speeches about abortion, gun control, etcetera.

For me the biggest reason for iOS is iCloud based Mac integrity. I know you can replace these services with Google, but I prefer them to work out of the box. ;)

Don't get me wrong, I really like iOS, but I simply LOVE Mac OS. (Might be due to the fact, that Windows is just crap.)
