cromagnon reasoning?

thats a new one.

you said in this order:

my computer cost $2300

I cant play WoW on it very well, the FPS sucks.

I am sad.

thats primitive to say and you know it. it wasnt even taken out of context until you explained that you also do graphics and video and stuff and could use a PC that would cost less.

you want a mac to play WoW, AND do your video/graphics stuff.

your reasoning is a cheaper PC can do that for you.

go for it dood. i dont agree, but go for it.

ps: 21FPS in WoW is not your computers problem, its your graphics card, so fix that. I mean jeezus man, you just bought this Dual Core and you are already selling it to go to the "dark side". I say good riddance then. not to the computer, though.

doesn't bother me

i realize that adobe's apps are some of the most important ones on the mac ( hell i use them everyday) but i think i would much rather have them working on a UB version of CS3. Would you rather get CS3 sooner, or get a rehashed CS2, and wait 6 months longer or more for them to get back to speed developing CS3 ?

For smaller apps that just need a recompile its ok to expect a UB version right away, and most of those apps authors have already made a UB version available. But when you're dealing with the code-base of say Photoshop or Word 2004 I can understand it taking a little more than a recompile. If we're patient, and let Adobe and others convert their apps the right way then we'll be the ones who reap the benefits. We're already through the OS9-OSX transition ( for most people ) and just think how bad that seemed at first. This should be very similar as far as we see. New versions will come out that actually support the new hardware and everything will be ok.

I suppose I wasn't aware that, when asked why I was selling my computer, it was required of me to list every reason I use my computer, starting with the most important.

Nor was I aware any mention of a single activity that sometimes happens on my computer was going to be assumed as its primary (and only) use.

In other words: I guess I wasn't aware I was talking to a caveman (in fact, I could have sworn I was talking to iGary - he understood it just fine - what's your problem?)

You do sound very intelligent though, honestly - your advice and mannerism is sure to be accepted by any one who reads it. Pat yourself on the back!

The ONLY reason I do not have a spanking new MBP on my desk is Adobe. I can't imagine I am alone. They are costing Apple a lot of loot. Don't expect to see Bruce on stage anytime soon.

Me too. But the petition won't do squat. It'll be ready when its ready. Adobe has a total corner on the market for CS-type programs. They know we'll wait for them.

On the other hand, it means that I won't end up with a Rev. A MBP which appears to be having a few problems here and there. I'm hoping that CS3 and the Merom books will hit at around the same time.

Signed. Just in case Apple have to replace my iMac G5 with an Intel.
