Just got MBP 13 / 16 Gb and installing stuff now. (It's already a joy, so fast and silent) The very first moments I checked the battery "Using Significant Energy" of the brand-new computer. It claims that Photos is the culprit (photo 1). But if you look in Activity, (photo 2), Photos is not activated at all - as is normal, because I only loaded a VPN, Safari and Apple TV, not Photos. Anyone a clue why this happened?

Typically when Photos app loads from cloud it takes significant resources. In addition, even when the Photo App is closed and on power, there is an indexer that runs. In this case, if you go to CPU in activity monitor and search for photo you should see something like
photanalysisid, cloudphotod and photolibraryd

If feasible, good idea when setting up for first day to leave on Power.
