Phantom/false iMessage Notifications??

Have an 13 Pro, running iOS 16.5.
Everything is updated as updated can be.

Within the last 2-3 weeks, I will receive a text message notification telling me I have a new imessage.

When I go to iMessage, there no new messages.
I'll ask Siri to read my newest message and Siri will read a message which I've read already.

The iMessage notifications are from contacts on my phone, they aren't random numbers or random messages.

Is this a glitch or something I can fix?

I think it's a glitch. On my iPhone 13 running iOS 16.5, I sometimes get a phantom "1" bubble on the Messages app icon.

Opening and force-closing the app a few times makes it go away.
