No, in all likelyhood it hints (or at least adds further evidence) that Apple will be keeping the same form-factor.
(Why work on the technology to release white iPhones in that form-factor if you'll only be making it obsolete in a matter of months?)
Is it normal for an Apple employee to divulge something like this?

Then they should have canceled the black model also cos its got piss poor proximity sensors aswell. I think the real issue was light leak from the camera flash.
Because the white iphone has become a joke and no-one takes apples releasedates for it seriously anymore.
Are any of the critical parts for the white iPhone or for the iPhone 5, regardless of color, manufactured along the east coast of Honshu, Japan? Another delay of the white iPhone 4 would be a disaster for Apple.

The isuee with the white iPhone was the light leakage from the camara, it made the pictures distorted.
The iPad does not have a flash (not that I know of).

I hope nobody buys em. Remember how many people were on this site crying about wanting a white iphone like the color really made a difference. After all this time, screw 'em, keep buying the black ones and let these pile up somewhere safe.

What's the point of a white iPhone 4 at this point? Are they even selling any iPhones right now? No point buying when the new one is just a few months away.

Why would Apple go through the trouble of producing a white phone? What trouble? A different treatment on the glass and a different color button. If they have worked out the issues with the white then the biggest issue would be setting up the new product codes. It's not like they are redesigning anything else on the phone.
True ... but the economies of scale this late in the production run for IP4 benefit profits considerably.
Let's guess that the IP5 has a similar housing design as the IP4 - similar enough that the glass, and most of the external buttons are compatible. Now bring in the plethora of scratched/shattered/broken glass IP4s as HW returns - glass recycled & reused (heat treating & other processes of course) - along with paint and Voila = White IP4. Sell the IP4 White model with $50 reduced pricing - it gets the lions share of current 16/32GB storage while the current Black IP4 sells for $100 cheaper at the high end for 32GB while the 16GB at $50-$69 cheaper. 8GB models get regulated to "3rd World countries or Booming markets where sales where low" and the rest of the world no longer has an 8GB model. Now ... the 16GB Black is the base.
MANY HERE & ABROAD will still lust after the 32GB White IP4 - since dual processors show only a small perceivable or tangible upgrade in performance for most tasks - when most users don't do a lot of high end gaming or video watching on their Iphones. Trend setters get IP5 with 32/64GB storage and better streaming options in the new iOS specific to IPad2/IP5 for another year to come.
Apple will SQUEEZE until they cannot squeeze no more - and I myself am ready to be a squeezed lemon for IP5.

I still don't believe this.. It's March! Almost a year late? yeah right. If the White iPad is out... why isn't the white iPhone 4? Most likely because the iPhone 5 is so close!
Thats not true. iPhone is one of the few products that hold value for a least the 1 year .
Last year I bought the iPhone 4 at full price. This june/july I am eligible for a fully subsidized iphone 5 so I will reup, and get the phone for $299. Then sell my iphone 4 for between 500 and 600 (I just sold one for a friend for $600).
So waiting for your contract to end is not necessary if you look at things on a yearly basis.
OR......maybe an early release of iPhone 5??? Ya never know with Apple

Funny enough, generations change everything. When the time comes, if the person is Gen X or later, this perception would be totally reversed. It'll be more like, "Why Doesn't he have a cartoon character as a twitter avatar." It would be common nature.
