Exactly. We used iLightShow for music syncing but wouldn’t pay $130 for it!Good to know about this. Love the few Hue lights that I have. But the products are getting costlier now. The TV app at $130 is very costly.

I've had colored bulbs in my bedroom for over a decade now. This isn't some new product.personally I think all this colored lighting is a fad that wont last long.
people will grow tired of their neon lit house.
go to Vegas.
I love my Philips Hue lights, and I've been using them for many years. But... am I the only one tired of companies trying to shoehorn "AI" into everything?
Agreed. I hate that companies are using the term "AI" for every new feature they introduce. No Philips, it's not "AI" all you did was figure out a different way to change the color of the lights. For all we know it might be a worse experience and less customizable than it is now. 😄I love my Philips Hue lights, and I've been using them for many years. But... am I the only one tired of companies trying to shoehorn "AI" into everything?
Philips doesn't make TV sets any more, I had, well still have but used a Philips Plasma and that was when they made them.I’m assuming most of the people who read this will be US based but Philips make some of the BEST TVs in Europe. Beautiful designs and ambilight all built in. And they are fully specced.
Review!
It's replacing bluetooth. Everything is better with AI in it.I love my Philips Hue lights, and I've been using them for many years. But... am I the only one tired of companies trying to shoehorn "AI" into everything?
It’s the new buzzword of “smart”.I love my Philips Hue lights, and I've been using them for many years. But... am I the only one tired of companies trying to shoehorn "AI" into everything?
That is very pedantic. It’s like Apple don’t manufacture their own iPhones. They are made by Foxconn.Philips don't make TV's, Lol
The TV branding was bought by a mid to low tier company called TP-Vision. Signify owns the brand name for Hue lights.
The BEST & highest rated tv's in Europe now are made by small Korean companies called Samsung & LG.
Philips have very little to do with it now, did you read my link? That is very pedantic. It’s like Apple don’t manufacture their own iPhones. They are made by Foxconn.
For all intents and purposes it’s Philips TVs. They sell under that. They have people who represent them based in the Netherlands where they originally come from. They are even on the Philips.com website as their own TVs. This is not some dodgy license of rubbish products like Nokia.
And if you don’t believe they make some of the best TVs then do some research. They use LG panels and add ambilight and other features to make them better in lots of people’s opinions.
This isn’t directed just at the poster of the reply, but everyone else questioning it.
Can’t see it yet in the LG App Store, can you?Nice to the Sync app added to LG, but how about Sony also?
Not yet on my C2 (2022) running webOS24 / 9.2.1-2605 in the US.Can’t see it yet in the LG App Store, can you?
I meant after they add this AI 💩… many apps which used to be 700 mb AT MOST two or three years ago now bloat to 2 GB+ … X/Twitter on my phone for example. There’s no reason it needs that much space. Health app is also bloated as hell at 1.2+ GBIf your Hue app takes GBs on your phone, there’s something seriously wrong going on with your device.
Philips have very little to do with it now, did you read my link?
All they do is stick their name to the set, just like Panasonic, well the lower end models are made by Vestel, which makes them no different to brands like Polaroid and Bush.
Philips more or less said, do what you want. more or less like Nokia did with their mobuile phone manufacture, they sold it to MS and then MS sold it to HMD, still has the Nokia name onit, but has nothing to do with Nokia.
I only found out recently that Toshiba belongs to Hisense, my TV is a Hisense, it is good for the price.
Difficult to know who makes what these days and if they have anything to do with them. I remember a few months ago, someone saying they are going to buy a new Panasonic as they love their TV sets, they took some convincing that new model's had nothing to do with Panasonic any more, but was now in the hands of TLC
Samsung still produces their own, but seems to have gone to pot, certainly on the repeatability of them.
I will stick with my Hisense, it is five years old next month, so if it lasts for another 3-4 years I will be happy for the price I paid for it.
Another link below of who does what, even if I have never heard of some of the brands. this is from @022, so things have changed again, like Panasonic are now made by TLC.

It is not the fact that they are made in China, Philips have very little to do with it now, if they have anything at all these daysYes, you are correct that TP Vision makes them. And yes they are made in China - like everything. Including everything Apple makes (I know they are also manufactured in some other places too). But the Philips TV offices are in Holland, their staff are in Holland, and the TVs are released first in Holland but that isn't even the point of my post.
The point was that that they make some of the Best TVs and I'd always choose them over Samsung or LG because of Ambilight.
Ambilight isn't a fad for any U.S. readers and it has been around for maybe 20 years, possibly longer.
