you can control scenes in the home app too, it's a bit messy, but i love that they live right in control center.I used both but before I would use the home app to create automations and control the lights. I used the hue widget to control scenes, which was easy to get to
I’m wondering if it is thread related. Do the lights relay Internet data between each other sometimes instead of communicating to the Phillips hub? I receive messages from Siri that a light is non responsive. Frequently when I request to switch off the garage lights the laundry light is powered off. Maybe Signify’s software is not very compatible with ’s Home?Anyone have crazy issues with Siri saying lights aren’t responding but they in fact do?
I have scenes that I haven’t touched in 2-3 years suddenly change. For example “Goodnight Siri” turns off the living room lights, but dims the kitchen light to a nightlight mode. Now it turns the kitchen light off, and Siri tells me one of the other lights is not responding, but they do.
Siri then says you can ask me which one of the lights is not responding but every time I try to ask that question I always get some other stupid Siri response. I have no idea what the Proper syntax is to ask her which light isn’t responding (but actually is). 🙄
I don’t know if it is my router, my bridge, or something else I haven’t thought of. All software (lights and bridge) is up to date according to the Hue app.

Toggling WiFi off/on always fixes it for me, so I've been assuming it's just another Apple bug.I’m wondering if it is thread related.
They ruined it..!!They have made it worse…they have removed widgets and made it go through shortcuts
You can have a shortcut to turn one light on…it’s all or nothing
i only use the hue app to set up initial rooms, but i'm sure that can be done via home also.Yeah thats what I do now, think to be honest will continue to ignore the Hue App
Yep - I've ran the app, checked for updates for my bulbs, and now won't use the app any more (as by default I don't connect home automation stuff to the internet, only my LAN).
The Home app usually works (although it has a long-running bug that often marks everything as unreachable until you toggle wifi off/on).Same here, I have blocked HUE and other devices in my firewall and only allow internet connections when installing updates.
As I have integrated HUE in my openHAB installation not using the app ist not a big problem.
I also use a great app "Hue Essentials" which I originally just got to program my dimmer switch but now keep as my main app. It can also check for updates so I've no use for the official app at all.
Add to this that a shortcut tile is twice as big and cannot be pressed again to turn off the same lights… So you have to create another shortcut to turn off. Equal 4 times the size that widgets used to take. Absolute garbageThey have made it worse…they have removed widgets and made it go through shortcuts
