Using ClamXav, I keep getting phishing alerts. Even as I scan each day there are at least 7 new alerts, all of which I've instructed to be quarantined. Any ideas on what I can do to protect myself? How worried should I be?

Might be better posting in another forum that isn't specific to MBP. My guess is(I have not used that software) is they will say there are issues and in order to take care of them you have to pay for an upgraded version of the software.

A phishing alert just comes from a scan for emails that might be phishing scams. There's nothing to protect yourself from, other than the obvious - don't open the links in the phishing emails.

If you're asking how to keep people from sending you email scams or spam, well...let us all know if you figure that out.
